Laat week, Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey announced he wouldn't be seeking re-election. Now another area mayor announces his retirement.

After 50 years of service to the city of Loves Park, IL, Darryl Lindberg has announced his retirement, according to wifr.com. Darryl has served the city as a police officer, police chief and as mayor since 1997.

While Darryl has no formal planes to leave Loves Park after retiring net April, he does have plans for travel, losing several balls on area golf courses and spending time with his grandchildren.

So that leaves the big question. Who will run for Mayor of Loves Park? The mayoral election ins April 4, 2017.
