5 Rockford Events You Need to Add to Your June ‘Itch List’
I was taking a look at the forecast for the next couple of days; it's absolutely perfect. Nothing but sunshine with highs in the upper 70s. Which is exactly what warm weather lovers have been waiting for for months.
Or should I say "itching" for? If you've been itching to get you and the family outdoors then I suggest you add these 5 Rockford events to your summer "Itch List."
Starting today, June 1st, at the Rockford Speedway, you and the family can enjoy fair food and drinks, fun and exciting entertainment, a full midway and more at the Rockford Town Fair. Admission is only $1 and unlimited wristbands are available for $20. Get more information on rides, shows and attractions here.
Looking for something a little less kid friendly? Ballpark Ale Fest at Rivets Stadium is this Saturday, June 3rd. Sip responsibly on 80+ craft beers, listen to live music, nosh on ballpark food and watch some baseball. The event begins at 4 for VIP and 5 p.m. for general admission. Get more information here.
Hands down, Too White Crew is my favorite cover band. If you love 80s and 90s hip hop, this event at District Bar and Grill is not to be missed. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 10, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cover is just $15. Get your tickets here.
We don't always talk about country music, but when we do, it's Old Settlers Days. From June 15th through the 18th, enjoy rides, games, fair food and live country music at Settlers Park in Rockton. OSD is the largest fundraiser for the Rockton Lions Club. The profits from this event are then given back to the community via various donations. Visit OldSettlersDays.com for tickets.
Race season has officially begun; it's important to not only run for fun, but it's even better when it's for a good cause. The Pink Heals 5K Fun Run/Walk is for kids and adults, 13 and up and all the money raised from the race stays right here in Winnebago County. The race is Saturday, June 24th; get more details here.
