  • His real name is Peter Gene Bayot Hernandez. So where did he come up with the name Bruno Mars? Bruno is after Bruno Sammartino, who was a wrestler. It was a nickname his father gave him growing up because he was super chubby and actually resembled the wrestler. And Mars he picked himself because girls told him he was 'out of this world.'
  • He also had the nickname "Little Elvis" as a child and did impersonations of the singer in Hawaii, where he grew up. His 'Elvis' talents landed him a role in the 1992 film Honeymoon In Vegas starring Sarah Jessica parker and Nicholas Cage
  • He was interviewed by Pauly Shore when he was 4 years old. Clearly, Pauly knew this guy was made for big things.
