A new report shows you probably should always ask for a receipt after paying for your food at McDonald's.

That's because your food will be fresh if you ask for a receipt and the reason behind it makes so much sense.

MSN reports a Quora user said, "McDonald’s employees are trained to watch out for 'mystery shoppers' or 'Gapbusters'—people who are paid to visit McDonald’s restaurants and rate their experience—at certain points in the day."

According to the story, these mystery shoppers usually dine between the times of 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and then again between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Since they are mystery shoppers, they are usually sent out by companies to check for quality and freshness. They also eat on their own dime, meaning they need a receipt to get reimbursed.

Long story short, if you ask for a receipt at McDonald's during those hours you'll probably get preferential service, which is always a good thing.
