One of the most popular stores for kids clothing is shutting down a bunch of stores this summer, should Rockford moms be worried?

Well, moms, you might want to be worried a little because the company is in some financial trouble, but you can breathe a sigh of relief today because the Rockford Gymboree store is currently staying open.

While I have no kids of my own, I do have six nieces and nephews that I spend a lot of time with and I am positive both of my nieces would be devasted if Gymboree didn't exist.

For years when I ask them where they got their cute shirt or dress is was from Gymboree.

So what gives? Why are they closing so many stores?

According to USA Today, the company is dealing with a bankruptcy restructure.

That totally sucks.

The good thing is that by closing these 350 retail locations, the brand itself should be able to continue producing affordable cute clothes for your kids.

Chances are you'll just have to order most of those styles online.

The Illinois locations that are closing as soon as next Tuesday include:

  • Algonquin Commons
  • Fox Valley Mall
  • Stratford Square
  • The Promenade at Bolingbrook
  • Marketplace in Champaign
  • St. Clair Square
  • Northwoods Mall
  • White Oaks Mall
  • Hawthorn S. C.
  • Spring Hill
  • Tanger Outlets in Tuscola
