Rough news for a Friday afternoon, 50 million Facebook accounts have been compromised.

NBC 5 Chicago is reporting that a bunch of Facebook accounts have been compromised.

To the tune of 50 million users.

According to the story, 'Facebook has discovered a security issue affecting 50 million accounts, which could have let hackers take over the accounts and access users' personal information.'

The issue was discovered on Tuesday and law enforcement was notified.

So what does this mean for us?

Well, you might want to change your password.

The story notes that 90 million users will have their access tokens reset. In regular person terms that means you will have to log-in again next time, you attempt to use Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg released a statement as well saying, 'While I'm glad we found this, fixed the vulnerability, and secured the accounts that may be at risk, the reality is we need to continue developing new tools to prevent this from happening in the first place.'
