We got some bad weather in the Rockford area yesterday but this photo really encapsulates the entire event.

I was reading earlier today that rainfall nearly doubled in July compared from previous years so yesterday's rain event should be a big surprise.

However, I wasn't expecting so much at one time, rain came down like buckets and at a steady clip for a while hear in town. Roads were flooded, and it was turning out to be a real bummer of a day.

Luckily, the clouds and rain dissipated and we didn't get much more for the rest of the day.

But before the rain ended, a massive funnel cloud had formed in downtown Rockford. Tyler Yomanatas, a student at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, caught the formation and uploaded the picture to Instagram.

Scary and beautiful at the same time. A pretty wonderful snap by Yomantas.
