If a stranger approached your child as they were playing at school, the park down the street, or even your front yard, would they know what to do?

Take a moment to remind them when they get home from school today as an attempted abduction was reported in Rockford over the weekend.

According to WREX, a little girl was walking home when a man in a gold Ford Taurus approached her in the 1500 block of Broadway, waved at her and then proceeded to park on North Parmele Street; that's when he asked her to get inside the vehicle.

The little girl said refused and quickly ran home.

The suspect is described as a tan male in his 30s, has a medium build, and was last seen wearing a black hooding and baseball hat.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect is urged to contact Rockford Police or Crime 'Stoppers.
