Sauk County Health officials have confirmed that bed bugs were found at the Chula Vista Resort.

Thanks to social media, it's been a pretty rough couple of weeks for the Wisconsin Dells. A little over a week ago, a family shared a video of their near death experience on a catapult ride when a bungee chord snapped and now photos of bed bug bites were being shared on Facebook over the weekend. Katie Madaus was visiting the resort for a dance camp and shared these photos as a warning to other visitors.

I think my bed bug post was reported! I am sharing my post back!

WISC-TV reported that county officials confirmed there were bed bugs at the resort and a heat treatment was already underway.

If you plan on making a trip to the Dells or any hotel for that matter, make sure you know what to look for while inspecting your room for bed bugs. I know, you shouldn't have to do that, but it's all hotels,  not just low-budget hotels. Bed bugs have been making a comeback in the U.S. since 2004 and the CDC blames the epidemic on the pests developing a resistance to pesticides. The University of Minnesota has put together some tips and advice on inspecting your room for pests with Let's Beat the Bed Bug; check it out before your next trip.
