A new study has ranked America's best and worst cities for music lovers. While Nashville and Honolulu were best, Rockford, IL made it into the 'Best' list.

At some point you really have to love that Rockford made it into a list like this. And while there are many great artists to see in Rockford, theater factor that helps make Rockford one of America's best places for music fans, is the number of venues you can see great live music.

Consequence of Sound has released ValuePenguin's study on music fan's favorite cities. And they used some pretty good criteria to compile the list. Things like, number of bands per capita and how awesome the crowds were at the shows. It should come as no surprise that Nashville, Tennessee came out on top. What was surprising is Honolulu, Hawaii and a small area in upstate New York beat out cities like Chicago and Los Angeles.

What's even more surprising is that Rockford, Illinois was #49 out the the Top 50 cities for music fans. And Rockford is also close to two other cities who made the 'best cities' list. Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
