Looks, glares and stares will be in full effect this Sunday in the Rockford area.

That's because Sunday, May 6 is World Naked Gardening Day. A day, which according to Wide Open Spaces says "no particular organization owns World Naked Gardening Day."

Why would an organization want to own World Naked Gardening Day? Like Seinfeld said, there's two types of naked, "good naked and bad naked."

Gardening in the nude seems like it would fall under the "bad naked" banner. Pruning flowers or raking leaves in the buff doesn't seem like a good idea. Plus there's sharp edges on a lot of the, ahem, tools used for gardening.

Potential injuries aside, the real idea behind World Naked Gardening Day is about "creating a positive body self-image," which we should all be for.

Whether you got it or not, Sunday is the day to let it all hang out, and be proud of who you are. Just be careful, the last thing you want to do is head to the emergency room due to an naked gardening accident. That's something your friends and family will never let you live down.
