Everybody has something that they love about their home state, and everyone has something that they hate.

For some reason we tend to brag more about the things we dislike about our state than the things we like. I was born and raised in Minnesota and when most of us are asked to describe our state with one sentence, it's generally, "10,000 lakes and 10,000,000,000,000 mosquitos." Seriously, ask anyone.

A European asked American users of Reddit to summarize their home state in a single sentence so they could better understand the differences between the states. Here's what residents had to state about the fine state of Illinois:
