Here's a little throwback for your Thursday.

I received a letter from my brother-in-law a few days ago. "That's weird" I thought, as I was opening up the letter from him.

Normally, I don't get mail from him. He lives close enough to us that if it was something he needed to say or hand to me he would just hand it to me in person.

I also thought it was a chain letter. Thankfully, it wasn't. It turned into a eye-popping trip back in time that I hardly remember.

Inside the envelope was another envelope, unsealed. The open envelope was addressed to Steve Shannon with the radio station's address underneath. The envelope had no return address and was postmarked October 6, 1999.

Still having no idea, I opened the envelope only to discover a hilarious note from a fan of the morning show at 97 ZOK.

If you don't know the story, I started as an intern at 97 ZOK during the spring of 1999. I was also working with the morning show hosts, Steve Shannon and Stefani Troye once a week.

I was really excited to work with Steve and Stef and although it was a short five or six minute radio bit but apparently, I made a fan in the process.

This is what my "Michelle" said in a letter to Steve:

Steve,

Hey what's up? This is "Michelle." Sorry in my last letter my grammar was incorrect but do you think that Sweet Lenny cares about grammar - hell no! All that boy cares about is booty!  But that's okay - even if that is so I still am in love with his voice. I will even wear a Vikings cheerleader outfit for him since he said that turns him on, and I am huge Green Bay fan.

I wrote a poem about Sweet Lenny, but it's a little too kinky to put in this letter.

Can you please have more of Sweet Lenny on than just a week for 10 minutes (if that.) I just cannot get enough of him!

So is Sweet Lenny single?

Love ya always."

After all these years, getting the letter in the mail was so much better than just finding it jammed between two books or underneath a pile of papers.

Do you know who Michelle, the letter sender, might be?
