Sweet home Chicago is right.  When you live in Illinois, you can forget just how much of a tourist destination Chicago really is.  For the second year in a row, readers of Condé Nast Traveler voted Chicago the best big city to travel to in its annual survey.  The travel magazine collected about 429,000 votes for the 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards.

Whenever I make the trek downtown, I wonder where all of the traffic comes from (saying that out loud sounds so dumb).  I guess I forget about how many people aren't just driving into the city for a weekend away from the suburbs. A lot of people are tourists.

According to Curbed Chicago, here's what the magazine had to say about Chicago -

Second City? Not by our count. Chicago is world-class in so many categories—magnificent architecture, stunning museums, brilliant chefs, a massive brewing scene, and so much to do that you’ll never see it all. Scratch the surface in the Loop and on the Gold Coast, then go deeper into the city’s 77 neighborhoods, where you’ll find cutting-edge restaurants (like Parachute), chilled out corner bars (Sportsman’s Club), and some of the most pleasant people you’ll find anywhere. It’s no wonder Chicago tops this list again.

They forgot to mention the best part... PIZZA!
