According to this list from WGN, living in Illinois doesn't help at all.

If you're a working parent, and you need to send your kids to some sort of childcare facility, you're in for some huge bills.

Illinois comes in as the third most expensive state in the country when it comes to childcare, with the average cost of childcare for one kid reaching almost $13,000 a year and that jumps to over $22,000 for two kids.

It doesn't get much better in Wisconsin, where childcare for one kid is about $11,500 and for two children it is slightly over $21,000.

My sister is a teacher in Wheaton and she has two daughters, I've heard her say on multiple occasions that she may as well just quit and stay home, according to this chart, she might  be on to something.
