City of Rockford Declares Freezing Rain Emergency

Freezing rain is in the forecast, therefore city officials have issued a freezing rain emergency.

According to My Stateline,

The Freezing Remain Emergency goes into effect at 8pm.  The odd/even parking rule will be enforced.  Since today is the 21st, cars parked on the street must do so on the odd side of the street based on address.  Cars must move to the even side on Saturday by 8am.

I would rather drive in two or three feet of snow than drive in freezing rain.

There is nothing more treacherous than attempting to maneuver the roads when you aren't sure if that is ice or just road.
