The cold has never stopped anyone from risking a little frost bite for a frosty bite of ice cream; especially when it's free.

Dairy Queen's soft serve ice cream is so good that it ended one of my best friendships back in high school. I wanted one of those delicious soft serve cones with the nice swirl on top; she wanted Mc Donalds's because she only had $1.00. For whatever reason, I got really upset; made her pull over to let me out of her car and didn't speak to her for about two years.

There really is no need to argue about ice cream when you don't have to pay for it. To celebrate their 75th Anniversary on March 16th - four days before the official start of Spring, Dairy Queen is having Free Cone Day. Participating DQ Grill & Chill locations will gladly give you one of their signature small vanilla cones - but you only get one. Maybe bring your lactose intolerant friends if you were hoping to get more.

P.S. I will remind you about the date.
