Rockton's Dairyhäus opens for it's 35th season on Friday, March 30 and we have all the delicious flavors being offered, and one surprising new flavor.

Opening ceremonies begin at 12 noon on March 30th and on-hand for the ribbon cutting will be Dairyhäus' original owner, Chuck Gilbert.

Vegan Ice Cream

Chocolate will be the first vegan flavor offering on opening day. I asked Dairyhäus owner, Brent Murray, for the story behind their vegan ice cream.

Instead of milk, we used organic coconut cream. We've been working on a D-Häus quality vegan/dairy-free ice cream for a couple years and kept getting lackluster results. Over the off season, my wife Meredith, took it under her wing. She probably made 20+ test batches refining the ingredients and process. She came away with a great "base" that we can alter to our whim, allowing us to make many D-Häus favorites without animal products.

Saturday-Sunday hours: Noon-9 p.m.

Open Easter Sunday: Noon-9 p.m.
