This dad is definitely going to need a shotgun, a shovel and an alibi.

Growing up, I was never really a daddy's girl. My dad was in the picture, but he never really gave off the over-protective vibe. In fact, my dad never even met any of my boyfriends until I was in my 30s. He met my now husband, Ben, when we first started dating and said, "it was nice meeting you, but I'm sure I'll never see you again." I, of course, made him eat his words at our wedding.

Something tells me things will be a little different for McKenna. If you have a daughter, you'll empathize with this dad.  Clearly, the thought of her dating freaks him out; so much so, that he decides to try and make her promise that there will be "no boyfriends." She hesitates in repeating his sentiments and then gives the best response.

Dads, unless it's in writing, signed and notarized, you can't hold your daughter to impossible standards. But at least let her know that looking is totally acceptable. If the bond between you is strong and something you both cherish, she'll keep her word.
