Glory to god in the highest, and peace to his Cubs fan on earth- January is turning out to be a blessed month for fans as another treasured visitor from the beloved team is coming to the Stateline; David Ross is coming to Rockford First Church.

Pastor Jeremy DeWeerdt made the announcement on his Instagram account over the weekend.

Very little is known at the moment about how big his role will be, but we do know that he will be a guest speaker at both services. (9:15 a.m. and 11 a.m.)

This is an incredible opportunity for anyone of any faith. Whether you're looking to take the next step in your spiritual journey, if you're still on the fence about where to start or you just love the Cubs, you won't want to miss this.

Just ask some of jocks in our building, like Steve Shannon, who attend Rockford First; they can attest to how incredibly amazing their church is and the energy level, while always very high, will be off the charts the day Ross will appear.

As someone who feels uncomfortable going to church (despite spending almost every Sunday of my childhood in one, they always make me cry), I might even consider going. When a legendary baseball player, hero, family man and spiritual leader speaks, you listen and it could just be a wake up call that a lot of us need to open up our hearts to building a stronger foundation for our faith.

So who's going?
