Since today's the day, what better way to celebrate Groundhog Day than with the scene that was shot in Rockford?

If you haven't seen Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray, stop what you are doing right now and watch it.

For all intents and purposes it's a classic. Think about it, 23 years later somebody like me is still talking about it.

If you didn't know, Groundhog Day was filmed primarily in Woodstock, Illinois.

According to IMDB, there are scenes also filmed in Algonquin, Waukegan, Cary and of course, Rockford.

The scene in Rockford is described as "Quarry." Bill Murray's character, Phil, steals Phil (the groundhog) and leads the police, on a car chase.

There are some familiar looking areas during the chase, including a shot of a truck driving underneath a bridge that looks like something I've seen many times.

That said, I can't quite put my finger on where that bridge is or the stretch of road they are driving on. Do you know where in the Rockford area this Groundhog Day scene was shot? Was it just the quarry, the chase scene, all of it? Tell us!
