Driver of Stolen Vehicle Killed After Head on Crash in Freeport

The high speed crash happened on business 20 near Hollywood Rd. Saturday night (8/27) around 5 p.m..

Police attempted to pull over the stolen red Dodge minivan in Rockford before it sped away, according to mystateline.com. The driver of the stolen van eventually lost control, slammed into a guard rail then hit an oncoming Lexus head on.

On impact, the driver of the minivan was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Lexus was treated for minor injuries.
