E-commerce giant eBay revealed today that their database was hacked "between late February and early March." What does this mean for your personal information?

Client information that includes names, birthdays, email addresses and more may have been stolen in the apparent attack. eBay spokeswoman Kari Ramirez says:

For the time being, we cannot comment on the specific number of accounts impacted. However, we believe there may be a large number of accounts involved and we are asking all eBay users change their passwords."

eBay goes on to say that the passwords were encrypted but there is no way of telling if or when the hackers can decrypt them. That is why eBay is asking for a password reset.

eBay also says that partner, Paypal was untouched, because the sensitive payment data is kept on different network.
