It's one thing to be a little sweaty, it's another thing to be under an excessive heat warning.

We are Midwestern-ers, we can handle unfortunate weather, but this week has been a bit much.

Not only is everything sticky and humid, your hair is either ridiculously flat or intensely Diana Ross, we're actually under an "excessive heat warning" until 7 p.m. today.

Drink a lot of water, stay in air conditioning if you can and be aware that there are some local activities that will be cancelled because of that heat warning.

I was skimming Twitter this morning and I found out that the regular public trolly rides in Rockford will be suspended until 4 p.m. this afternoon for the Rockford City Market.

I also discovered that according to the rainout line, all playground programs in Rockford have been cancelled for today, except for Elliot Park and Sabrooke, which will be moved inside.

The rainout page will be updated as the day, and weekend, goes on, so be sure to check there before heading off to an activity that might be cancelled.
