Former Rockford News Anchor To Host Miss USA Pageant

After the original hosts, judges, and emcees backed out of this years Miss USA pageant due to Donald Trump's controversial comments, producers scrambled to find all new everything.

That's where former WREX-TV news anchor Alex Wehrley, comes in. Wehrley who worked in the Rockford market for a short time a few years ago has bounced around the country since landing at the E! Network.

According to Wehrley's bio on IMDB, "She is best known for her work on E! News Now, Eye Opener and various live red carpet shows."

Trump's controversial comments caused NBC Universal to drop the show which was then promptly picked up by the Reelz Network. The show airs with Wehrley as host on Sunday, July 12.
