Congratulations to the town of Freeport for hosting the World Series trophy over the weekend in excellent fashion.

Sunday was a Stateline Cubs fan's dream, with the World Series trophy making an appearance in both Freeport and Rockford.

My parents and I drove to Freeport to catch a photo with the trophy and I just wanted to congratulate Freeport on their organization skills!

The outdoor line was already moving when we showed up shortly after 9:30 a.m. which was awesome considering we expected to spend at least an hour outside.

Originally the doors were supposed to open at 10:30 a.m., but by then we were already packed in the Mesonic Temple auditorium watching the Cubs World Series DVD and listening to fellow fans tell stories about why they love the Cubs.

In no time, our group was lead downstairs to meet that sparkly trophy! That line moved pretty quickly too, and while we were only allowed one photo per person, you can see from my photos above, no one restricted your photo taking while in line, as long as there was no flash.

The best part? The entire day was absolutely free, though there was a collection for The Little Cubs field of Freeport that I'm happy to say was looking pretty full when we left around 12:30 p.m.
