The first official West Nile Virus-ridden mosquito of 2018 in Illinois just north of I-90 in the Chicago suburbs. According to WREX, officials confirmed the first positive test earlier this week in Glenview and Morton Grove.

This is around the same time that the first positive test of mosquitoes was collected in 2017, a year where the public health officials reported 90 human cases of West Nile Virus, including eight deaths.

It's important to wear bug spray when outdoors, but that isn't the only way to protect yourself from mosquitoes.
