Two Aurora men are being hailed as heroes after they saved a man from a burning car wreck.

After an unnamed 34-year-old man from Warrenville, Illinois crashed his car on Saturday, March 31, two men sprang into action to help.

While the man was unconscious, Jose Martinez pulled him out of the car, later assisted by Devin Johnson who helped drag him further away from the vehicle.

The dramatic events were all caught on video by an Aurora Police Department car dashcam.

The Aurora Police Department Facebook page says "The 34-year-old was charged with DUI and a litany of traffic offenses. He suffered burns and other injuries and was transported to a suburban Chicago hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries."

The Aurora Police Department says without the help of Martinez and Johnson, both Aurora residents, the man would not have lived.

Lucky to be alive, the man will now have to face the music. According to ABC 7 in Chicago, he has a court date in Kane County on Monday, April 16.
