More jobs is always great news. After all, we have to work to survive. According to the Chicago Tribune, Google is expanding their Midwest Headquarters in Chicago. Google already employs over 55,000 people worldwide. The Chicago office currently employs over a 1,000 people. They opened that location back in 2000 as a sales outpost but over the years it has grown by leaps and bounds. Besides sales, they have engineers there now and other tech workers.

The new jobs that will be added will be on the finance team. As of yet, an exact number of new jobs hasn't been announced but it's supposed to be in the hundreds. Head of government relations Rob Biederman said, " it's more proof that you don't have to move to the West Coast to have a career in technology". I think its really awesome that they're expanding their Chicago office. More jobs equals a better economy.
