It's been a long 17 months since that awful April 9th tornado that tore everything apart in it's path, including the Grubsteakers Restaurant at 64 and 251. Good news! The restaurant will open for business again next week.

Rochelle News-Leader reports that owner Ava Mirtoska will be opening the restaurants doors next Wednesday, September 7th.

Although the building looks different everything else, according to Ava will be the same. “Same owner, same employees and same menu.”

It'll be served with that same laid back country style, no frills or anything fancy or as Ms. Mirtoska has said "We are going to make people be comfortable like they were before.... We will be open to welcome everybody.”

Grubsteakers will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Now that is really good news. By the way, their pie was fantastic. Can't wait for it to be open again, the corner at 64 and 251 has seemed so desolate and empty, now new life is coming back and the happy cozy feeling it once had will be there once again.
