Halloween & Your Blood: Saving a Life Isn’t Scary at All

When you think of Halloween, do you think of blood and gore? Well you should, but not in the way you think.

Two local businesses are teaming up to host a blood drive this Friday, October 28th from 5:30 a.m. -2 p.m.. The event will be held at Backyard Bar and Grill located at 6473 N. Second Street in Loves Park. WIFR's Aaron Wilson will be broadcasting live at the event all day starting at 5am according to wifr.com.

What a perfect place to hold a blood drive. You can donate blood, and then reward yourself with some delicious grub, and maybe even enjoy an adult beverage afterwards. And on top of the warm and fuzzy feeling you'll get inside from knowing you are helping someone, you will also get a $5 giftcard to Backyard Bar and Grill. Save some lives and save some money.

So if you have some free time on Friday, I hope you will think about participating in this event. Maybe even grab a friend and make it a lunch date. And don't forget to take some morbid picture and make up an elaborate story to spook your kids just in time for Halloween.
