The Florida Panhandle is in the midst of disaster relief efforts after being hit with the strongest hurricane to hit the continental U.S since Hurricane Andrew in 1986.  Hurricane Michael was the first category 4 storm on record to make landfall on the Panhandle.  Wind gusts reached up to 155 MPH.

After Michael was downgraded it became the first Category 3 hurricane to hit Georgia since 1898.  Before Michael hit, over 30 million people were put under a hurricane watch.  Analysts are estimating that Hurricane Michael caused billions of dollars in damage.  The destruction is heartbreaking.
