Rockford Ball and Screw are looking to add more members to their team.  Rockford Register Star reports,

The 45-year-old manufacturer of industrial screws and bearing mounts is building a 30,000-square-foot addition to its plant on Southrock Drive and looking to add to its staff of 75 full-time employees. They have several machinists positions and a couple of professional positions open.

Employers cannot fill the vacancies in their companies fast enough.  Manufacturing jobs are changing with the times and require different skills and more education than in past years.  Looking at the numbers the Illinois Department of Employment Security reports that -

"there were 33,000 manufacturing jobs in Winnebago and Boone counties as of August. That’s the largest number of manufacturing jobs in the two-county area in more than a decade. The Department of Employment Security says 1,200 manufacturing jobs have been created locally in the past year."

In the Rockford area alone there are hundreds of jobs.  The company wants to focus on creating education for hands-on occupations that will allow you to support a family.
