Have you ever been through a storm this huge?

The Biggest and most powerful Hurricane to make landfall in the Florida panhandle in a hundred years is about to hit Panama City Beach head on. Early this morning Hurricane Michael was upgraded to a category 4 storm, and its size is absolutely mind-boggling. As of right now, it's bigger than the entire state of Illinois. With sustained winds of 145 miles an hour and up to 12 feet of storm surge expected, the gulf coast could see flooding for up to twenty miles inland.

The storm is said to be catastrophic to the Florida Panhandle and surrounding areas. Mandatory evacuations were announced earlier this week but some folks decided to ride out the storm. Which is possibly the worst decision ever.

Being from the south, I have been through a lot of hurricanes with Katrina being the worst. The last thing you want to do is stay for the storm. The mock-up photo in this blog is here to show you how big Michael really is. If the Hurricane was here, it would engulf our entire state. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who remain on the Gulf coast as we see how these next few days unfold.
