Raise your hand if you have a love/hate relationship with Ikea. You love the furniture and the all-you-can-eat brunch on Sunday, but visiting the store (especially on a Sunday) is like visiting the fourth circle of hell and you hate having to assemble your new Billy bookcase and Poang chair because without a Masters Degree in Engineering, you can't figure out the directions. But after all the blood, sweat and tears, lost Alan wrenches and screws, you love how your new Ikea furniture gives your space a sophisticated, contemporary look and on the cheap.

That's Ikea in a nutshell, but for someone reason we love that place; and if you've never experienced the sheer joy and frustration of shopping there or putting together one of their pieces of furniture, you just haven't lived life.

Well it's time to start living life to the fullest and head north because Ikea is expanding and this time they're opening a new store just 12 miles south of Milwaukee in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

NBC Chicago says the 295,000-square-foot store would be built on 29 acres at the northwestern corner of Interstate 94 and Drexel Avenue and Ikea plans to open the new location by summer 2018. Which, by the way, gives you some time to get that engineering degree so you can actually read the instructions for assembly.
