Illinois City Among Best For July 4 Celebrations

Getting out of town this weekend? Turns out you may not have to drive that far to find one of the best U.S. cities for celebrating the 4th of July.

According to Escape Here, Chicago ranks 8th as one of the top cities for fireworks and more this weekend.

This city is perfect for the foodie or shopper. When visiting Chicago, one cannot be bored. In fact, many tourists who visit the city do not spend much time in their hotel room as their busy all day. With major firework displays and a parade, one must consider heading to Chicago."

As a born and raised Chicagoan, I have spent many a July 4 seeing some amazing fireworks. If you are going to Chicago this week, I recommend catching the Navy Pier fireworks display at Montrose Harbor. It's close enough to see and far enough away from the gigantic crowds.
