A new list from Thrillist means every Illinois resident should be ashamed of ourselves.

Titled "This Map Shows The Most Popular Super Bowl Foods In Every State," highlights all 50 states in the country and their most favorite thing to eat while watching the big game.

Obviously, Illinois should have something really innovative and tasty for "most popular." Regardless of what you think of the state as a whole, food in Chicago is some of the best in the world.

The most popular in California is Chicken Wings. Utah's got Pulled Pork and New Mexico has Seven Layer Taco Dip. All are acceptable and good tasting Super Bowl food.

However, Illinois' "Most Popular" Super Bowl food is Chex Mix. Really, Chex Mix? A state where the majority of residents take pride in their pizza and hot dogs, reach for Chex Mix on Super Sunday?

How is this possible? According to Thrillist, the researchers at General Mills "compiled a bunch of recipe search data from popular sites like BettyCrocker.com, Pillsbury.com, and Tablespoon.com. Specifically, they looked into both the most popular and unique search trends by state."

Not that's there anything wrong with Chex Mix, it's just not what I'd expect.
