Double T from 96.7 The Eagle interviews Nicole Briscoe who grew up in Roscoe, Illinois and is now an ESPN SportsCenter Anchor.

When I was a kid growing up, I had dreams of being in a rock band or a professional football player. That didn't quite work out.

Nicole Briscoe, while growing up in Roscoe, Illinois, had a dream of working with sports on TV. The Hononegah High School grad is now one of the anchors from SportsCenter on ESPN. The ultimate job for her career goal.

Of course, it didn't happen overnight. I had the opportunity to chat with Nicole about her journey from the Rockford area to ESPN.

Here's the whole interview, if you would like to check it out.

Briscoe still has family here, so she likes to come to visit when she can.

This Thursday (9/13), she will be in town for a special event with the RACVB. It's called Sport Stories.

According to gorockford.com,

"Sport Stories is a celebration of the most successful athletes and sports professionals who are native to the region. This educational luncheon is a platform for the area’s sports heroes to give back by sharing their success stories—a narrative that stretches from their childhood days playing at parks and playgrounds in the Rockford area to athletics and life achievement globally."

She will be joined by Jody Deery, owner of Rockford Speedway and Kenny Gould, 1988 Team USA Olympic boxing bronze medalist.
