Some people might say that their drug of choice is the sugary, carbonated goodness of an ice cold pop (or soda for you non-midwesterners).  That joke is slowly becoming a reality.  Coca Cola, the largest soft drink maker, is thinking about expanding into the rapidly growing cannabis industry.

Now, Coca Cola isn't out here trying to appeal to the young kids or anything, they are looking to combine their products with cannabidiol (CBD), the non-psychoactive chemical found in marijuana.  Apparently Coca Cola is in contact with Canada's Aurora Cannabis Inc.  Why Canada? Well, legal recreational marijuana goes into effect October 17th there.

So why does Coca Cola have so much interest in this?  Well, aside from the huge pay out, there are tons of medical benefits.  The CBD drinks would most likely aim to reduce inflammation, pain and cramping. Coke's official statement said

"Along with many others in the beverage industry, we are closely watching the growth of non-psychoactive CBD as an ingredient in functional wellness beverages around the world"

So my only question is... are CBD whisky&cokes going to be a thing now?
