Six-year-old Jayden Hayes is trying to turn something negative into a positive and we can all participate.

Is it just me or do you need a little more positivity in your life lately? If you said "yes" than read on.

Little Jayden Hayes has very little to smile about these days. He recently lost both of his parents and he's just six years old. His father passed away two years ago and then his mother died unexpectedly just two weeks ago. It's a lot for a child his age to ever have to deal with.

But it seems there's nothing that can keep Jayden down. During his mother's funeral, he looked around at his family and saw how sad they all were and at that moment he decided that he had to do something to make everyone happy again. His aunt suggested smiling at others and asking for a smile in return.

On July 22, Jayden started a "smile experiment" and along with his aunt, they hit the streets to hand out small toys to passersby; in hopes of getting a smile. It's been working and now there's a hashtag on twitter that you can use to share a smile with Jayden. #TheSmileExperiment

The goal was to collect 500 smiles and he's already received over half of that. Can we help him reach his goal. It's so easy; take a look.

You can also follow the experiment on Instagram.
