Think back to when you were a little boy or girl, say around five or six; remember how excited you got over Christmas back then? There was nothing better than waking up on Christmas morning; being the only one to wake up before dawn to grab your stocking from the fireplace and then you'd wait patiently; while watching A Christmas Story, for the rest of your family to wake up so you could open presents. Those were the days and hopefully that's what your family get to experience every year at this time; after all that's what Christmas is all about, being with family.

Unfortunately, for five-year-old Safyre, that's just not possible. Two years ago this beautiful little girl lost her entire family in a suspected arson fire; a horrible crime that still has yet to be solved.  Safyre lost her sister, two brothers and her father who was found next to her after he used his body as a shield to protect her from the fire and saved her life. A life that will never be the same after she suffered burns on 75% of her body and is still recovering.

Her aunt, who now has custody of Safyre, posted a request on her Facebook page for Christmas cards; that's all she wants for Christmas this year.

If you're not the type to send out Christmas cards or decided to not send any this year, perhaps we can all make an exception for this strong, brave, courageous and beautiful little girl.
