A Loves Park woman is asking others to pay it forward after a chance encounter at a Rockford restaurant.

The Loves Park Neighborhood Watch Facebook shared a story from a "Watch Fan" who described an encounter with "a nice man that I will probably never know his name."

The fan mentioned that the man paid for her and her three small grandchildren's breakfast at Nori's Cafe.

She referred to the random act of kindness as "a teaching moment for my grandchildren."

It's the small things that matter, and if you do enough of those, they will make a larger impact. The fan says "Take your neighbor's garbage out, pay for someone's food in the drive thru behind you" or just "cut your neighbor's lawn."
