Two producers from Rockford have started their very own sitcom and are posting the episodes for you on YouTube.

For weeks I've been trying to think of ideas for a fun and creative weekly web series to post on YouTube but I can't seem to come up with anything. My brain actually hurts from putting so much thought into the creative process that it's pretty much useless. (my brain that is)

Or is it? Perhaps local producers Kris Williamson and Wyatt Elliot could use it as a prop for their new throwback zombie sitcom for YouTube, The Deadersons.

Filmed in and around Rockford, this series about a zombie family's life after the apocalypse is a must watch if you're a fan of zombie films and shows.  Some places you may might even recognize. The pilot was filmed at Game Pros in Freeport; which was turned into a butcher shop, and the front of the shop is Clyde's Comics on Broadway in Rockford.

This afternoon I had the chance to sit down with a bowl of brains...I mean popcorn, and watch the pilot episode and I loved it. From the old school laugh track and Donnie's good looks to the fake commercials; it was funny, witty and quirky. I mean c'mon, "The Deaderson Funeral Home, We Dig Your Family"? Classic. The fact that it's a local production makes it that more enjoyable.

See for yourself; you might even recognize someone you know.

If you enjoyed the pilot episode, I know Kris and Wyatt would love your feedback. Currently they're producing one episode per month (good news for us binge watchers who are trying to break the habit), thanks to the flexibility of their cast members, but they could use some help from the community. They're actively looking for sponsorships and plan on starting a crowdfunding site to help raise funds so they can pay their actors. Brains aren't cheap.

Whether it's to volunteer your location, donate props or you just want to be an extra, you can reach Notebook Movies at the following:

I'm already looking forward to the next episode. Will Donna and David get the loan to start their own funeral business? What will Dehlia wear to the homecoming dance with Johnny? Will Dennis get to keep his pet snake? How long until Stacey and Donnie become a thing? Ooh, I can't wait to see what happens.

The second episode is currently filming, and a third is in preproduction.
