On Wednesday, Rockford's Discovery Center Museum announced it will be a part of the ninth annual Blue Star Museums, along with more than 2,000 museums across the nation, and will be offering free entry to active military members and their families this summer.

According to the Discovery Center's press release;

Between Memorial Day, May 28 and Labor Day, September 3, 2018, active duty military personnel and up to five family members will be provided with free admission to Discovery Center. This free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card(CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active duty U.S. military - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve,U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps.

The Blue Star Museums initiative aims to help military families spend time together and "create special memories" in the midst of moving to different duty points across the country or when a parent returns home from deployment.

I think it's awesome that the Discovery Center takes part in this program, and I encourage all active military families to take advantage of it.
