Chicago wants to get in on the 'Minding the Gap' excitement by hosting a pretty sweet event later this month.

We're all for the extra press about this amazing documentary made in Rockford, but don't go calling 'Minding the Gap' a Chicago film, ok?

'Minding the Gap' was made right here in Rockford and we're anxiously awaiting Oscar Sunday to find out if the documentary will win an Academy Award.

While we wait, we can keep watching the film on Hulu, or we can head to Chicago for what looks like a pretty great event.

The Chicago Cultural Center is hosting, 'Free Screening & Discussion: Minding the Gap,' on Saturday February 16.

The event is brought to you by WTTW, which in itself is pretty awesome.

You can get all the details here.

Oscar Sunday is February 24, and will be on ABC.

Catch Midday Michelle on 97 ZOK from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Follow her on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
