An Utah elementary school asked first graders to rate their mom's parenting skills for a Mother's Day project and parents are outraged.

Happy Mother's Day, you should probably do you hair.

Whatever happened to planting flowers in milk cartons, flower bouquets made out of tiny hands or my favorite - pottery? While my favorite thing about kids is that they're the most honest people on the the planet (well them and intoxicated adults), I'm not sure I want my personal life with my kids to be judged not just by a child who is too young to understand why some things are done the way they are at home , but also by their teachers.

Is this something you'd like your child to give you as a gift for Mother's Day?

I recieved this from my daughter and I have to say, I'm extremely offended. This is highly inappropriate! I'm sure I'm not the only mom who is upset!

Sure it's cute and innocent but teaching kids to grade their moms on how good of a parent they are is just wrong. It has me wondering if this was the teacher's idea or if it was part of the curriculum; a curriculum that I'm definitely not familiar with.

More importantly, what kind of message is this sending to moms? You have to be supermom, be able to do it all. It's your responsibility to make healthy meals, work full time, have hobbies, be able to find time to relax; all while looking flawless, keeping your room clean and be free from distraction. Seems a little unreasonable to me.

What about you? What would your reaction be if your first grader came home with this from school?
