It's every parents' worst nightmare, to lose a child. Anyone who has ever had to deal with the pain of having to bury a loved one who passed way before their time knows the pain and anguish one has to go through; knowing that their lives will never be the same. We always plan that we will be long gone before our children and our grandchildren, but sometimes God has other plans.

Unfortunately, for the Shoemake family, God did have another plan for little Leland. Leland, just six years old, passed away from an amoeba called Balamuthia mandrillaris that infected his brain and it took his life last Friday.

When his mom and dad, Amber and Tim, returned home to pick out clothes for Leland's funeral they found a note that Leland had wrote when he was still sick; they aren't sure when he wrote it but they were shocked when they found it. Amber shared it on her Facebook page and the response has been overwhelming.

This is Amber. This will be my only post on here for awhile. I was over protective of Leland and tried my best to keep...

The Shoemake Family has set up a GoFundMe page for Leland and they're close to meeting their goal of $10,000, the money raised will now go toward Leland's funeral expenses.
