Dress code has been a hot topic so far this school year, and now it's reached an Illinois high school that's not too far from Rockford.

First, there was the student from a Kentucky high school who was sent home for showing too much collarbone.

Now, students from McHenry East and West High Schools are rallying around a student who apparently showed too much shoulder.

Students disapproving of the current dress code have started a Facebook stating, "We are taking a stand against the rule that girls should not show their shoulders, for it will distract boys and they won't do their best academically."

The group also created an Instagram account and have created a #ShowYourShoulders hashtag across all social platforms.

There was also a protest scheduled for last week that ended up being cancelled at the last moment.

While the planned protest that was scheduled for last week ended up getting cancelled at the last moment, the group says it will continue their mission to change the schools dress code policy.

According to NBC 5, "school administrators say the dress code is not new, and students have protested the rule before." "The dress code policy is conducive to the district as well as the students," the school said in a statement. "It's unfortunate that some parents and students don't adhere to this policy."
