There's nothing quite like a summer night with the family taking in a baseball game. I remember going to Cubs, White Sox, Kane County Cougars, and even Schaumburg Flyers game with the family. In fact, we were at the inaugural game for the then-Schaumburg Flyers.

Minor league games always give off more of a friendly family fun vibe, with mascots, lawn seating, fun games around the park and more. Plus the ballparks usually double for community events. Boomer Field used to host 5k's and sleepover nights for charitable organizations. It just seemed to add something nice to the community.

The Beloit Snappers are trying to build up their community and ballpark. The team released the renderings for their new 3,500 person stadium that will also double as a community facility for youth, educational, and cultural events according to WREX.

Construction is anticipated to begin in the Spring this year.
