Downtown Rockford is the perfect place to enjoy the fall-ish weather during the weekend. Whether you're shopping, or just walking around, there's always plenty to do.  However, that walk around downtown just got even better.  Three new murals are going to be popping up in Rockford this week.

Murals will be going up on Market Street, 6th Street, and East State Street.  Some will be done by local artists while others will be done by artists brought in by the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.  According to the Bureau

It will also bring in a famous artist who is known for the iconic and interactive wings painting in Nashville to paint a similar work of art on East State Street this week.

The Market Street Mural is in the works by local Rockford artists from the 317 Studio & Gallery. 317 Studio and Gallery owner Therese Rowinski said

This alley is really a neat little space that we thought is a neat little space that we could do something bright and colorful, and really enchanting

The hope is that people will want to interact with the art, take photos with it, etc.  If you're free this weekend, be sure to stop by and enjoy the new local art!
